You must pay for the first weeks fees on your child’s first day of attendance. All fees must then be paid a week in advance.
You may pay weekly or monthly but must be a minimum of one week in advance at all times. If payment is missed for any reason eg sickness, we will allow you to pay on the first session your child attends – failure to pay fees on this day will result in your child being unable to attend on their next and subsequent sessions and possible loss of their place completely. We also reserve the right to charge a fee of £25 should the arrears fall two weeks in arrears.
Payments may be made by Cash and credit or debit card. (We can no longer accept cheques as the banks do not guarantee them.)We can also accept card payments over the phone if your child is dropped off and collected by other carers. We can also take payments by BACS and Standing Order, which can be made weekly or four weekly. Please ask for a standing order mandate.
We do not ask for a bond, however if you require a place to be held available for more than two weeks we would ask for the first weeks fees in advance as your commitment to take up the place. This would be non-refundable if you do not take up the place.
Full fees are payable at all times, which include any absences i.e. sickness or holidays. It is not possible to offer any reductions for absences for whatever reason as a place is reserved throughout the year.
It is important that you notify the nursery on the first day of your child’s absence by telephoning the manager. If you are unsure if your child is well enough to attend please do not hesitate to contact the nursery, as it is at the discretion of the manager /Senior Practitioner as to whether the child is well enough to attend. The nursery reserves the right to temporarily remove a child in the event of illness or threat of infection to other children. If your child should fall ill during nursery hours then every effort will be made to contact the parents, or the emergency contact number provided. Please note:- In the case of an emergency the manager reserves the right to escort the child to hospital and contact the parents immediately.
If your child has an accident on the premises, the member of staff dealing with the incident will log all the details in our accident book, where a parental signature will be required.
Only medicines prescribed by a Doctor may be administered on our premises, by the designated member of staff. A medication log-book is kept which requires a parental signature before medicines will be given. Non-prescribed, over the counter medicines can be administered with the permission of the parent. Please note:- the use of skin creams and lotions can only be applied with the written authorisation from the parent.
Alphabet House is open 50 weeks a year. We are closed all the bank holidays and also Christmas when we will close at 6pm Christmas Eve and re-open on January 2nd.
It would be helpful, to prevent loss and damage, if all toys and belongings are left at home. The nursery accepts no responsibility for articles brought to or left at nursery. It is advisable to label all coats and bags clearly, an extra set of clothing will be required in the case of accidents, which must be taken home after the end of each session.
If your child is still in nappies ample wet wipes and nappies must be provided at the start of each session. We will endeavour to toilet train your child but only with the co-operation of the parent. Please discuss this with the senior practitioner.
A mid-day meal is provided, a morning snack, afternoon snack and a tea. A two- weekly menu is displayed on the notice board. Summer menus may be subject to change on hot days.
In the case of adverse behaviour the child will always be told why his/her behaviour is not acceptable. A member of staff will ensure to inform his/her parents of any sanctions imposed i.e removing a disruptive child from the situation.
On arrival, your child will be warmly greeted by a member of staff who will hang up their belongings and introduce them to the day’s activities.
The arrival and departure time of each child is noted against the child’s name in the register.
If your child is to be collected by any other person other than the parents, you must notify the Senior Practitioner. Failure to do so will result in the child not being permitted to leave.
A place may be cancelled by giving two weeks notice, or the payment of two weeks fees in lieu of notice. It is usual for fees to increase in the April of each year in line with minimum wage increases.
